Description

As a Steward you will help create the Discovery Land Company experience for members and staff by maintaining sanitation standards, ensuring all cooking utensils and equipment are clean, dry, and properly stored, and handling chemicals safely. You will set up china, glassware, and silverware for all outlets, participate in team briefings, complete opening and closing procedures, support departmental goals, monitor inventory of food, supplies, and dishware, and keep all kitchen equipment clean and well‑maintained while following company policies.

• Maintain sanitation standards in all kitchen work areas by cleaning dishes, equipment, and utensils.
• Provide clean cooking utensils and ensure proper storage of all equipment.
• Safely store and log chemicals such as bleach, Clorox, and food‑safety cleaning products.
• Perform daily set‑ups of china, glassware, and silverware for all outlets.
• Attend department briefings and communicate necessary information to team members.
• Complete all opening and closing procedures as instructed.
• Assist in achieving departmental objectives and goals.
• Monitor inventory levels of food, ingredients, dishware, and cleaning supplies through regular checks.
• Maintain cleanliness and proper functioning of dishwashers, stovetops, ovens, mixers, refrigerators, and prep areas.
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
• Work flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and shifts longer than eight hours.

This seasonal Steward role is based at Discovery Land Company’s Hamptons locations – Dune Deck Beach Club in Westhampton Beach, NY, and The Hills in East Quogue, NY – and runs from April 20, 2026 to October 7, 2026, with H‑2B visa sponsorship available for in‑country extensions.

Candidates need at least three months of experience in a high‑volume restaurant, resort, or private club and must be able to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and shifts longer than eight hours. Fluency in English, the ability to stand, walk, and move for more than four hours, and to lift up to 50 lb are required, as is a background check. A positive attitude, professional demeanor, strong communication skills, teamwork, and the ability to stay calm during busy periods are also essential.
