Working knowledge of highway and/or bridge construction methods, materials, standards, and specifications
Level III Senior Inspector or Office Engineer: Minimum of five years of related experience
10-hour OSHA Construction Safety Training certification
Experience with NYSDOT SiteManager reporting software for DOT projects (preferred)
Good oral and written communication skill
Level II Inspector : Minimum of two years' related experience
Ability to prepare clear and concise Daily Inspection Reports to document the work performed; the manpower, material, and equipment used; field measure and calculate quantities of work completed and other pertinent information
Level IV Chief Inspector or Resident Engineer: Minimum of ten years' related experience
Operational knowledge of field inspection equipment
American Concrete Institute (ACI Concrete Testing certification (preferred)
Working knowledge of mathematics with the ability to apply mathematical formulas and engineering principles to field measure quantities and calculate quantities of completed work to recommend payment to the contractor for items of work
