Overview
Collect and document telecom OSP data on site for engineering teams.

Tasks
-Work with the Engineering and Field Engineering team to complete all job tasks and resolve any client issues -Capture accurate measurements of attachment heights, span distances, utility structures, & distances from existing/proposed OSP facilities to centerlines, property lines, and curb lines. -Identify, photograph, & document detailed information of required facilities, including cables, poles, terminals, pedestals, handholes, & other outside plant infrastructure. -Record bonding, grounding, guying, and anchor information. -Updating completion dates and relevant information in Insite related to the job -Identify power and communication facilities and ownership on utility poles. -Identify relevant obstructions to fiber placement and provide a proposed mitigation strategy. -Deliver detailed field notes & photographs to the engineering team.

What You Bring
-Ability to read and understand digital GIS maps, conduit records, and layout drawings. -Able to use electronic devices, such as iPad, iPhone, laptop, file sharing, email, etc -Be able to effectively utilize tools, such as measuring wheels, height sticks, pull finder, GPS devices, MH/HH hooks, & laser rangefinder. -2+ years of experience in the fiber-optic/telecommunications/telecom construction industry -Experienced in the use of Microsoft Office Suite -Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds -Ability to travel with short notice -Ability to read and understand as build prints, and be able to identify conflicts with existing outside plant facilities, select routing of lines and equipment required for projects -Regular, punctual, and predictable attendance is required to support the needs of the team and the customer -Ability to work outdoors 95% of the time -Ability to follow OSHA/State/Local Safety Standards -Ability to work safely, with or without supervision -Ability to learn new technical systems and tools -Able to identify different types of utilities, potential conflicts, and violations based on regulatory standards (RUS, NESC, GO95, NEC, etc.) -Ability to travel up to 100% of the time, by air or vehicle and may require overnight stay up to two weeks at a time -Ability to resolve problems following standard practices, using judgment within defined policies and guidelines -Familiar with GIS (Geographic Information Systems), ESRI, and shapefile functionality -Knowledge of outside plant activities (Fiber Cable Design, Pole Line Construction, Conduit System design), and Make-ready issues -Ability to walk up to 3 miles per day on terrain such as gravel, pavement, or grass -Understanding of OSP construction techniques. -Knowledge of obtaining right of ways and easements where required, and the ability to make the appropriate notations on the field notes for the desktop teams -Working knowledge of AutoCAD (a plus) -The ability to perform independently with minimal supervision, exercising latitude to achieve daily objectives -Good organizational, written, and verbal communication skills -Extensive travel and the ability to work on site for numerous projects in various states -High School Diploma or equivalent required -Must have a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation with an acceptable driving record, and be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check. -Ability to work in poor weather conditions such as heat, snow, rain, or wind
