Forklift Operator

Description

• Ensures that product is moved and scanned using a radio frequency scanner to the correct location and confirm product labels are accurate.
• Anticipates the needs of the business, keeping like product together and accessible.
• Maintains a clean and safe area free and clear of any debris.
• Successfully passes all Novo forklift training and operate a forklift following all safety requirements established within Novo. May place standup items into designated area by hand as required. *
• Operates a forklift to move product and pallets throughout warehouse to an area safely.
• Communicates any discrepancies, product issues or safety issues with Supervisor.
• Use of proper PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and company approved tools while remaining aware of hazards and maintaining a safe work environment.

Requirements

• Ability to read, understand and carry out written procedures and standard work instructions.
• Minimum one year experience operating a forklift.
• 100% stand, handle or feel, squeeze or grasp.
• Experience operating a forklift primarily with product weights of 2500 lbs. or more.
• Lift, push or pull 75-100 lbs. with assistance
• 80%: Reaching with hands and arms, depth perception.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Prior experience in distribution or manufacturing environment.
• Prior experience lifting wide loads, as long as 18 feet.
• Ability to move awkward product lengths and weight.
• Flexibility in scheduling - able to work overtime as needed
• Lift, push or pull up to 50 lbs. without assistance.
• High School Diploma or GED
• Basic math, interpersonal/team, and reasoning skills
• 50%: Walk, repetitive motion, operate moving equipment.
• 10%: Working bent at waist, stoop, kneel, crouch, bending or twisting.
• Experience with operating a forklift with rate rating of 6,500 pounds.
• Able to withstand exposure to seasonal weather elements and wood dust .
