3D Harness Integration: Develop complex 3D wiring harness models using the Siemens NX Electrical Routing module, ensuring clash-free routing through locomotive engine compartments, cabs, and underframes.
2D Logical Design: Create and maintain detailed electrical schematics, wire lists, and block diagrams using AutoCAD Electrical, ensuring alignment with 3D models.
Technical Compliance: Ensure all designs comply with locomotive standards (e.g., AAR, IEEE 1558, and EN 45545 for fire safety).
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate with Mechanical Engineers to define bracketry, clipping points, and clearance requirements for high-vibration environments.
Manufacturing Documentation: Generate flattened harness drawings (formboards), Bill of Materials (BOMs), and nailboard layouts for production.
Design for Excellence (DFX): Implement design choices that account for high-voltage isolation, EMI/EMC shielding, and ease of maintenance in the field.
