Telematics Installer

Description

• Install telematics systems and devices on vehicles, construction and heavy equipment, and customer assets.
• Operate machinery during installation for testing purposes.
• Remove and replace ignition systems, then integrate communication between keypad and telematics.
• Perform installations ranging from basic power/ignition/ground wiring to custom CAN‑network harnesses.
• Identify and resolve problems, analyze information, and develop alternative solutions.
• Travel to client sites or EquipmentShare yards within a 250‑mile radius for installations.
• Represent the EquipmentShare platform and brand while on the job.
• Occasionally work outside business hours and on weekends.
• Bring energy, effort, and optimism daily.

Requirements

Employment is contingent on passing a background check; some roles also require a drug test. EquipmentShare is an EOE M/F/D/V.

• High school diploma or equivalent (trade school certificate preferred).
• Mechanical aptitude; comfortable with tools and hands‑on work.
• Experience as electrician, HVAC tech, car‑audio installer, mobile electronics installer, automotive electronics technician, or 12 V technician.
• Willingness to learn; prior telematics experience not required (training provided).
• Own basic tools; specialty tools supplied.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Clean driving record and ability to pass background check.
• Ability to travel up to a week at a time within 250 mi radius.
• Physical ability to lift > 25 lb, bend, squat, walk long distances, and maneuver in tight spaces.
• Clean‑shaven for certain worksites; safety‑sensitive position requiring a 10‑panel drug screen.
