The role centers on reviewing current estate plans and identifying enhancement options that fit each client’s needs. The manager must meet delivery dates, attend internal collaboration meetings, and possess a strong understanding of trust agreement language and the Uniform Principal and Income Act (UPIA).
- Research basic to complex estate matters, including trust and estate case law, using tax research tools.
- Prepare written deliverables such as emails, memos, and Excel matrices that document client issues and provide conclusions.
- Respond promptly and professionally to internal and external client and associate requests.
- Communicate open items and important matters to engagement leaders, meeting budgets and deadlines.
- Perform estate tax calculations using Microsoft Excel and other analytical systems.
- Develop standardized approaches to improve quality and delivery time of estate plan solutions.

- 5+ years of experience with individuals, fiduciary, estate, and gift compliance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent education and experience.
- CPA certification required in the state of practice.
- Knowledge of wealth transfer planning vehicles and trust agreement language.
- Experience with income tax and estate impact of various trust vehicles, including charitable remainder/lead trusts, spousal lifetime access trusts, intentionally defective grantor trusts, qualified personal residence trusts, and grantor retained annuity trusts.
- Ability to quickly become proficient in charting estate plans derived from legal documents.
- Ability to quickly become proficient in drafting correspondence explaining estate plans from legal documents.
