This role enables you to apply and expand your expertise in underground transmission line engineering, covering routing, duct‑bank configurations, manhole placement, and core electrical principles. You will design complex underground transmission lines for voltages up to 500 kV, conduct cost analyses, develop design criteria, and determine optimal siting and routing in challenging environments.
Physical design responsibilities include creating duct‑bank layouts, trenchless solutions, cable‑pulling calculations, and comprehensive drawing packages. You will also perform cable selection studies, define bonding schemes, calculate ampacity, develop riser configurations, and write specifications for procurement, installation, and construction.
- Design complex underground transmission lines up to 500 kV, including routing, duct banks, and manhole placement.
- Perform cost analyses and develop design criteria, siting, and routing in challenging environments.
- Create physical designs such as duct‑bank layouts, trenchless solutions, cable‑pulling calculations, and drawing packages.
- Conduct cable selection studies, determine bonding schemes, and run ampacity calculations.
- Develop riser structure configurations and assess structural loading.
- Write specifications for cable procurement, duct‑bank installation, trenchless methods, and general construction.
- Coordinate with vendors and clients to specify transmission‑line components.
- Lead and direct a project team of engineers, designers, and drafters.
