Description

• Contribute to conceptual and schematic direction, creating design narratives, diagrams, volumetric studies, and spatial strategies.
• Support form‑finding, façade development, program strategies, and experience‑driven design.
• Translate concepts into coordinated architectural systems and detailed development strategies.
• Build and manage 3D/BIM models in Rhino, Grasshopper, and Revit with precision.
• Integrate structural, MEP, façade, environmental, and mobility inputs into evolving designs.
• Assist Project Managers and Project Architects in producing and organizing design deliverables.
• Participate in interdisciplinary coordination sessions, ensuring feedback is reflected in design updates.
• Prepare compelling presentations, visualizations, and design packages for client and stakeholder meetings.
• Articulate design intent through drawings, narratives, and visual storytelling, representing the design team in reviews and workshops.
• Mentor junior and intermediate designers, providing guidance on design iteration, digital skills, and documentation.
• Contribute to internal knowledge‑sharing, studio research, and design discussions.

Requirements

UNS North America is seeking a visionary Senior Architect/Designer with strong conceptual skills, advanced digital fluency, and the ability to translate design vision into coordinated, buildable solutions. This key role will shape early design direction while supporting technical development and interdisciplinary coordination.

In this position, the Senior Architect/Designer will work closely with Design Leads, Project Managers, and technical teams to ensure that design ambition, performance, and precision remain aligned throughout the project lifecycle. The ideal candidate is highly collaborative, adept in both conceptual and technical thinking, and comfortable navigating the pace and complexity of NYC and/or Austin projects.

• 8+ years of professional experience with a strong portfolio demonstrating conceptual and technical clarity.
• Master’s degree in architecture.
• Advanced proficiency in Rhino and Grasshopper; strong Revit skills preferred.
• Experience coordinating with structural, MEP, façade, landscape, and sustainability consultants.
• Strong understanding of building systems, materials, and architectural detailing.
• Experience on complex, large‑scale, or design‑forward projects.
• Excellent visual, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Familiarity with NYC zoning, DOB processes, local construction practices, or Austin building codes and urban planning regulations.
• Passion for interdisciplinary design, digital innovation, sustainability, and human‑centric environments.
