Accounting Supervisor

The Accounting Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily functions of the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and inventory accounting. This role ensures financial accuracy, regulatory compliance, and effective internal controls through the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures. This role will require learning each area of accounting to ensure adequate coverage and cross-training.

Reporting directly to the Controller, this role plays a critical part in supporting cross-functional departments and aligning finance with operational goals. The Accounting Supervisor also serves as a key liaison between the Finance and Operations teams, promoting collaboration and driving process improvements that enhance efficiency across the organization.

• Ensure timely and accurate processing of receipts, timely collections and waivers in the accounts receivable department as well as ensure there is proper cross training
• Handle complex accounting projects by conducting due diligence, integrating financial systems, and ensuring compliance with financial reporting requirements.
• Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
• Prepare journal entries and reconcile prepaid and accrual accounts
• Assist on the annual Inventory counts working with the VP of Operations, print tags and run reports etc.
• Coordinating and preparing for annual review includes working closely with external auditors.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
• Implement and oversee the use of accounting software and systems, ensuring they meet the organization’s needs and are used efficiently.
• Manage the AP and AR month and year-end close process, ensuring all financial transactions are recorded accurately and in a timely manner.
• Back up for Fixed Assets tag assignment
• Administrator of Corporate Credit Cards and Virtual Payables
• Oversee the daily operations of the accounting department.
• Ensure timely and accurate processing of accounts payable and inventory cost data for both companies.

• Project management skills; able to manage schedules and deadlines for ongoing initiatives.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe
• Proficiency in accounting principles
• 10 years of managerial experience
• Must be able to maintain confidentiality of all sensitive information
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Demonstrative abilities in collaborative team building and consensus.
• Attention to detail
• Knowledge of internal Controls – developing and maintaining
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field + 5 years of managerial experience
