Supervising Developmental Services Worker 1 (35 Hour)(Office/On-site)

Description

• Secure and distribute supplies and equipment for teaching strategies and individuals personal needs;
• Assist in development of policies, programs and operational procedures;
• May attend interdisciplinary team and administrative meetings;
• Arranges for individual transportation;
• May coordinate community support services for individuals;

• Supervises staff by directing and advising them on work, reviewing reports and conferring with them on daily operational, disciplinary and special problems;
• Assists in unit response to surveys and inspections;
• May design and write residential living programs;
• Directs implementation of these policies, programs and procedures in accordance with state and federal regulations and needs of individuals;

Requirements

• Experience working with modern approaches to provide active treatment for persons with intellectual/developmental disabilities

• Considerable knowledge of
• Supervisory ability.
• Knowledge and Experience with approaches to progressive discipline, and a thorough understanding of the DDS Work Rule
• interpersonal skills;
• Experience working in an ICF setting and adhering to ICF regulations
• Experience using Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Teams and Excel, as well as DDS e-camris and CORE-CT
• Experience as a supervisor managing Staffing / Scheduling on a Residential Campus setting, across multiple locations
• Incumbents in this class may be required to be bilingual or fluent in American Sign Language.
• Experience working with government or private agencies that provide services to persons with disabilities
• Experience communicating and articulating in a professional capacity in organizational, verbal, and written communication form requiring considerable email and phone interactions
• Experience maintaining and scheduling staff training in a campus setting to ensure compliance
• Knowledge of
• Experience working in a fast-paced setting; multitasking and prioritizing projects while meeting competing deadlines
• Ability to implement policies and operational procedures;
• Incumbents in this class may be required to possess and retain a valid Connecticut Motor Vehicle Operator's license, Public Passenger Endorsement or Commercial Driver's license for designated positions.
