Asset Integrity Engineer
Certarus Ltd.
Certarus is a provider of compressed natural gas (CNG) solutions for industrial, commercial, and residential clients.
Conduct risk-based inspections and assessments to identify degradation mechanisms and recommend mitigation strategies.
Manage integrity assessments and inspection plans (visual, NDT, corrosion eval, structural integrity) on facility infrastructure, pressure vessels, process tubing, piping, hoses, and pipelines per local and jurisdictional codes and regulations in Canada and the US (e.g. ABSA, CSA, ASME, DOT/PHMSA).
Develop and implement asset integrity management programs for pressure equipment, piping and pipeline infrastructure for Certarus in the US and Canada.
Provide technical support from an Asset Integrity standpoint during facility upgrades, retrofits, expansions, and new builds.
Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to ensure integrity related activities are addressed proactively.
Participate in the documentation collection, submittal and attendance of regulatory audits.
Oversee fitness-for-service evaluations and repair plans for damaged or degraded assets.

Knowledge of process piping and pipeline systems and standards (ASME B31.3, B31.8, CSA Z662, API 570).
The position holds normal business hours, with 25-30% travel expected within the US and Canada.
API certifications (e.g., API 510, API 570, API 653) are highly desirable.
Strong understanding of pressure vessel design, inspection, and maintenance (ASME Section VIII) API 510).
Proficiency in risk-based inspection (RBI) methodologies and engineering assessments. HAZOP and risk assessment training considered an asset.
Excellent organizational & communication skills. Demonstrable success in fast paced cultures.
Valid driver’s license. Ability and willingness to travel across North America.
Working knowledge of corrosion mechanisms and mitigation strategies.
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or related field.
7+ years in an asset integrity role in oil & gas, energy, or industrial sectors. Experience managing integrity programs across multiple facilities/regions is highly desirable.
Maintain, digitize and centralize asset integrity documentation and inspection reports across the company. Experience with the implementation and management of Integrity Data Management Systems (IDMS).
Familiarity with engaging with regulatory bodies such as ABSA, TSSA, TC, and US DOT/PHMSA.
Proven experience with integrity data management systems (IDMS), with a strong understanding of inspection data and lifecycle management.
