Working with various departments to drive EMR down while being a safety champion for the organization.
Observing and correcting unsafe acts and at-risk behavior.
Reporting all work-related incidents to Milhouse legal/claims department and working with such department in the management of the claims.
Consult with the Manager to assist him / her in the establishment and implementation of regional safety goals.
Conducting post-accident drug testing pursuant to Milhouse policy.
Job duties may require work outside of normal working hours, including providing safety coverage on emergency response work when requested by manager.
Conducting regular onsite project safety audits.
Identification of job site hazards.
Assure communications to the Corporate Safety Department are completed.
Assure injuries are properly reported and classified according to OSHA rules.
Conduct investigations and ensure that such investigations reach the main contributing factor(s).
Conducting safety training as required.
Advise Manager on trends within his / her region, such that they can take appropriate action.
Evaluation of Crew Foreperson knowledge of their safety training responsibilities.
Verification that safety documentation has been properly compiled and submitted.
Ensuring subcontractors are following Milhouse and client safety requirements.
Inform and communicate with your Corporate Safety Manager on weekly activities, questions, concerns, problem areas, etc.
Working with OSHA to resolve any compliance issues or disputes.
Ensuring that all Milhouse personnel are properly trained before commencing work on site.
Observe and report on proper work techniques in accordance with the Milhouse Policies and Procedures.
Ensuring that all PPE is current, in working condition, and appropriate for the job in question.
Evaluating General Superintendent knowledge of safety training programs, and supervisory skills.
Actively participate/lead in safety teleconference calls as scheduled.

Comfortable with being predominately in the field.
Must have a 30-hour OSHA card; OSHA-500 certification preferred.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Track record of success in safety positions.
Highly organized, self-motivated with a passion for continued learning within the safety field.
Comfortable dealing with and resolving confrontation and/or sensitive situations.
Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
Must have a minimum of 5 years of safety experience in the construction industry.
CPR certified.
