Responsible for ensuring job-related equipment is always in good working order and ready for deployment or drill notifications.
Conduct onboard safety drills.
May perform other general work, confined space entry, spill response and industrial maintenance as directed by supervisor.
Understand and complete paperwork to follow procedures and regulations, such as customer logbooks, vessel logbooks, charts, EPA Discharge logs, placards, and labeling.
Document and keep current all required vessel logs and inspections.
Provides clear direction to deckhands and passengers to ensure safety during potential navigational or event hazards.
Deploys, tows, and anchors containment boom and other spill response equipment, as necessary.
Provides continuous training in safety, seamanship skills and basic navigation techniques.

USCG Merchant Mariner Credential as Master of 1600 Gross Registered Tons (GRT) for Oceans with Radar license
API Rigger and Hydraulic Crane Operator certificates (or ability to obtain)
