In this position you will perform engineering analysis and design of transportation structures such as bridges and retaining walls under close supervision. Typical duties include assisting with structural engineering tasks, performing analysis and design calculations using software like LEAP Bridge and Midas, calculating quantities, creating 3D models and CADD plans with MicroStation and OpenBridge, reviewing contractor drawings, researching applicable design codes, coordinating with the project team, complying with safety guidelines, completing required training, and adhering to WSP’s Code of Conduct.
Required qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineering from an ABET‑accredited institution and 1–3 years of relevant experience. Candidates must possess strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, familiarity with design/build processes and structural design codes (AASHTO preferred), proficiency with MicroStation, Geopak, OpenBridge, and AASHTOWare BrR, a proven safety record, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively under general supervision.
Preferred qualifications are an Engineer in Training certification, active participation in professional practice organizations, and a Master’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineering with an emphasis on structures.
