The engineer will continuously monitor critical IT and cloud services, providing real‑time visibility into performance, availability, and security. They will respond to incidents, outages, and service degradations, investigate hardware and software problems, and maintain detailed logs and documentation. Additionally, they will generate performance reports, design and maintain the monitoring framework, and participate in audits to ensure regulatory compliance.

The role ensures smooth day‑to‑day operations by promptly addressing technical issues, supporting end‑users, and optimizing system performance. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem‑solver with strong technical expertise and excellent customer‑service skills.
Candidates must be self‑motivated, detail‑oriented, and possess strong oral and written communication skills. A bachelor’s degree in a technical or managerial field is preferred, along with at least five years of professional experience. Relevant certifications such as Network+, Security+, or CASP may be required per DoDD 8140, and a U.S. citizenship with the ability to obtain a Secret clearance is mandatory.
The position is based at Fort Knox, Kentucky, with potential telework after approval. Physical requirements include repetitive hand motions, ability to follow audible emergency communications, and prolonged desk work. The role supports 24/7/365 operations.
