The Team Leader – MIS supervises the Management Information Systems function, delivering accurate and timely reports that enable informed business decisions. This role leads a team of MIS analysts, ensures data quality, automates reporting processes, and serves as the primary liaison between business units and data teams.
Responsibilities span end‑to‑end MIS reporting across daily, weekly and monthly cycles, maintaining dashboard accuracy, and standardizing reporting formats. The leader mentors and manages analysts, allocates work, monitors service level agreements, and fosters continuous skill development. They also act as the single point of contact for stakeholder requirements, translating business needs into effective reporting solutions and presenting insights to senior leadership. Additionally, they drive automation initiatives, improve data validation, and uphold governance and audit standards.
- Own end-to-end delivery of daily, weekly, and monthly MIS reports across assigned business verticals.
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and timeliness of all MIS dashboards and reports.
- Design, maintain, and enhance automated MIS reports and dashboards (Excel, Power BI, SQL, etc.).
- Analyze trends, variances, and KPIs, and provide actionable insights to stakeholders.
- Standardize MIS definitions, formats, and reporting processes across teams.
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of MIS analysts/executives.
- Allocate work, track deliverables, and ensure adherence to SLAs.
- Provide regular coaching, performance feedback, and skill development support.
- Drive process discipline, documentation, and best practices within the team.
- Act as the single point of contact (SPOC) for MIS-related requirements for business and leadership teams.
- Present reports, dashboards, and insights to senior management.
- Manage ad-hoc data requests and priority changes effectively.
- Identify opportunities to automate manual MIS processes and reduce turnaround time.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to data sourcing, validation, and reporting.
- Ensure compliance with data governance, audit, and control requirements.

The role requires advanced technical proficiency, including expert use of Excel (Pivot Tables, Power Query, Macros), strong experience with BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau, and solid SQL knowledge for data validation. A deep understanding of KPIs, metrics, and performance reporting is essential. Complementary behavioral strengths include analytical problem‑solving, excellent communication, leadership under tight deadlines, meticulous attention to detail, and a proactive, ownership‑driven mindset.
Candidates should hold a graduate or postgraduate degree in commerce, management, engineering or a related field, and possess five to eight years of experience in MIS, reporting or analytics, with at least one to three years in a supervisory capacity. Success will be measured by timeliness and accuracy of deliverables, stakeholder satisfaction, automation gains, team productivity, and compliance with data quality standards.
