JLL provides professional services in real estate and investment management worldwide.
This position provides specialized maintenance, repair, and technical support for forklift and material handling equipment in a distribution facility that serves the healthcare supply chain. The technician ensures optimal performance and safety of the forklift fleet through preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs while adhering to OSHA, FDA, and manufacturer standards. The role is part of the facilities team and supports seamless logistics for temperature-sensitive healthcare products.
Daily duties include routine preventive maintenance on Crown forklifts and electric pallet jacks, diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues, and conducting repairs on systems and safety components. The technician records all service activities in a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) and performs safety certifications and inspections. Parts, fluids, and supplies are ordered and inventoried, and emergency breakdown calls are responded to promptly to minimize downtime. Coordination with warehouse operations schedules maintenance without disrupting product flow, and pre-delivery inspections are performed on new or refurbished equipment.
Candidates must have at least three years of forklift maintenance experience in a regulated environment, a valid forklift technician or equivalent mechanical certification, and the ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams. Proficiency with diagnostic tools, multimeters, and standard mechanical tools, as well as Microsoft Office for documentation, is required; a clean driver’s license and the physical ability to lift 50 lb are also necessary. Strong problem‑solving, attention to detail, and safety consciousness are critical in the healthcare supply chain context.
Preferred qualifications include knowledge of warehouse management systems and CMMS software, prior experience in healthcare or other regulated distribution, OSHA 10/30‑hour certification, and familiarity with FDA regulations and Good Distribution Practices. The work schedule is Monday‑Friday, 7 a.m.‑3:30 p.m., with an hourly rate of $31.39 (approximately $62,400 annually). The role is located on‑site in Peabody, MA and does not provide visa sponsorship.
