The Maintenance Technician reports to the Maintenance Manager and works full‑time as a non‑exempt employee. The role ensures residents have a safe, comfortable, and attractive living environment by keeping all electrical, mechanical, and structural components functional and promptly addressing repairs.
Core responsibilities include responding to resident service calls for plumbing repairs, tile installation and repair, drywall work, and electrical switch repairs, while always complying with Fair Housing laws.
Occasional duties involve fence repairs, assisting with HVAC and refrigeration work, cutting keys, trash pickup, lawn care, swimming‑pool cleaning, and carpet shampooing.
Qualifications require English literacy, general mechanical aptitude, a valid driver’s license, EPA/Freon recovery certification, HVAC certification, and current Fair Housing certification.
Preferred candidates possess advanced technical training from a mechanical or trade school and may have prior experience as a service manager for a multi‑unit property.
The position demands physical activities such as walking, bending, lifting, and exposure to weather, noise, dust, chemicals, and heavy equipment, using tools like key‑cutting machines, hand tools, and lawn‑care equipment.
