In this role you will be involved in safety case documentation, risk and hazard analysis, life‑extension assessments, and client‑embedded support for all classes of submarines. You may also provide technical oversight for civil nuclear power stations and contribute expertise to shore‑side infrastructure projects.
If you have experience in submarine engineering or safety and want to work for a reputable consultancy that values your contribution, Frazer‑Nash invites you to join its growing team. The firm delivers high‑quality engineering, systems and technology support to the Royal Navy’s submarine programme and other critical sectors.
Senior positions are open across the technical axis, each based in a different UK location, to expand the company’s capability in the submarine domain. The roles are aimed at professionals with transferable skills who can help grow this specialised portfolio.
Candidates should have MESM Category A1 experience, commercial industry exposure to the submarine enterprise, and knowledge of safety case techniques such as HAZID and functional hazard assessment. Familiarity with MOD nuclear policies, risk‑management (including ALARP), technical assurance, and Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status is also required.
Due to the sensitive nature of the work, successful applicants will undergo pre‑employment screening and must meet UK National Security Vetting clearance criteria.
The MESM CAT A1 / Submarine Safety role offers a salary between £65,000 and £90,000 per annum and is available in Glasgow, Bristol, Gloucester, Plymouth, Portsmouth, or Warrington. Frazer‑Nash operates a flexible hybrid working pattern across office, client sites, and home, with applications closing on 26 January 2026.
Frazer‑Nash provides a comprehensive benefits package that includes a competitive salary with annual reviews, generous holiday allowance, flexible working options, enhanced parental benefits, a pension scheme, professional development support, life assurance, private healthcare, a performance‑linked bonus, and a range of additional optional perks.
