Key duties include developing and maintaining an effective S&OP process, facilitating monthly S&OP meetings, and collaborating with sales, operations, and supply‑chain teams to ensure accurate forecasting and inventory management. The planner creates and balances the Master Production Schedule with business objectives, monitors changes in demand, and adjusts schedules to address production issues. Detailed production schedules are built to optimize resource use, coordinate material and labor availability, and resolve conflicts that could affect delivery dates.
The role is responsible for defining, tracking, and reporting key performance indicators such as production efficiency, on‑time delivery, and inventory levels, using data analytics to identify trends and opportunities for improvement. The planner manages the Material Requirements Planning system, works with procurement to handle shortages or excess inventory, and analyzes capacity to recommend adjustments to labor, equipment, or processes. Participation in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma initiatives supports continuous improvement, reducing lead times and enhancing service levels.
Collaboration is essential; the planner acts as a liaison among production, sales, engineering, and supply‑chain teams, fostering teamwork and proactive communication. The position requires strong motivation, organizational and influencing skills, exceptional written and verbal communication, attention to detail, and the ability to negotiate and build consensus with internal and external stakeholders.
Required qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering or a related field, and at least three years of production planning or scheduling experience in a manufacturing environment. Proficiency with ERP systems—preferably SYSPRO—and advanced Excel skills are essential, along with strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities. Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous‑improvement methodologies is a plus. The role is primarily office‑based but involves regular presence on the shop floor, with the ability to perform inspections, stand, walk, and climb as needed, and work Monday‑Friday with occasional overtime.
Pennsylvania Transformer Technology LLC (PTT) is a US-owned, industry leading manufacturer of a wide range of sizes and types of power transformers for the investor-owned electrical utility, municipal power, and industrial markets. Within its two US locations, PTT manufactures transformers rated from 5MVA to 600MVA and 345kV. This includes substation units, generator step-up units, autotransformers, grounding transformers, mobile transformers, unit auxiliaries, unit substations, and three-phase voltage regulators. We have a rich heritage that dates back almost a century. Our headquarters is located in Canonsburg, PA and is the former site of McGraw-Edison and Cooper Power Systems transformer operations. Our roots designing and manufacturing power transformers extend back to 1929 with transformers being made in our Canonsburg facility since the 1950s. Our sister facility, devoted to small power transformer production, is located in Raeford, NC and has been producing transformers under current ownership since it was built in 1992. Capital investments in our manufacturing facility have produced a world-class power transformer plant. Our one-million square-foot facility provides tremendous capabilities; including a one-million pound lifting capacity and an impulse generator capable of 2400kV and 360kJ. We employ experienced design engineers who use finite-element-analysis and 3D computer modelling software to optimize designs. We design/build to customer specifications and industry standards such as ANSI, IEEE, NEMA and CSA. Our ISO-based systems assure maximum dielectric and short-circuit strength resulting in the highest quality, reliability and a long, trouble-free service life. PTT’s promise is to build the best power transformers in the industry through superior processes, work ethic and employee pride.
