Review contract requirements for project execution, organize the preparation of the Technical Document Register (TDR), identify requirements and scope of work; review specifications Process Data Sheets (PDS), Piping Material Specifications (PMS), Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID’s), Plot plans, General Arrangement (GA) drawings, Review Philosophies, Area Classification Drawings, Fire and Gas Detector Layout Drawings and other relevant documents.
Interface and provide clarification and guidance and technical support to construction sites and commissioning engineers, provide start up assistance as required.
Identify scope of work, budgeted man hours, budgeted quantities, total number of deliverables, format of delivery, time schedules and other specifications for execution of the work. Monitor man-hour costs and team schedules. Recommend cost effective measures to reduce the overall package costs.
Interface and regularly meet with client and vendor representatives, conduct internal staff meetings, ensure the progress of project in accordance to schedule, allotted man hours and budgeted costs. Coordinate with projects and planning departments on schedule related issues. Update TDR progress reports.
Apportion work among engineering staff according to specialized training, Supervise and monitor the development of equipment and material specifications and data sheets, administer the development of detailed engineering calculations and drawings including the preparation of the design basis document, system specifications, cable routing, control room layouts, Cause and Effect Diagrams, Loop Diagrams, Functional Logic Diagrams, Complex Control loop narratives and Safety narratives, Wiring Termination Diagrams, Loop drawings, Installation Hook-up Drawings, Instrument Plot Plans, Control Panel Drawings, Control/Equipment Room Lay-outs, Cable Tray/Trench Lay-outs, Cable Schedules and Cable Drum Schedules, JB schedules, Interconnection Schedules, Installation detail drawings, Fire/Smoke Detection Lay-out and Alarm Lists.
Interact with Quality Assurance for quality issues, strictly ensure compliance with Company’s ISO Quality procedures. Coordinate Internal and Client audit requests, facilitate audit procedures of engineering systems within the department.
Establish and maintain strong and effective working relationships with other members of the specialist and regional teams both in project delivery and asset management.
Prepare documentation for and participate in project design reviews, HAZIDs/HAZOPs and safety in design workshops as required.
Participate in HAZOP meeting and undertake SIL studies with client and representatives of other engineering disciplines.
Review ITB (Invitation To Bid) documents submitted in the proposals stage, issue inquiry requisitions, review vendor offers.
Contribute to E&I engineering design efforts (i.e., design calculations, drawings, specifications, control systems and technical review of the works) on time, cost effectively and fit for purpose for the project and business requirements.
Provide the sites with engineering troubleshooting support either directly or by coordinating the input of engineering specialists.
Asset engineer responsible for the discipline relevant Performance Standard and supporting assurance activities.
Coordinate the preparation of Purchase Requisitions for the procurement of equipment and materials. Ensure materials are obtained within scheduled timeframes and budgeted costs.
Prepare equipment, material and man-hour estimates.
Supervise the preparation of technical inquiry requests (Inquiry Requisitions) to vendors, participate in the technical evaluation of vendor bid offers. Direct and provide guidance in the Technical Bid Evaluations (TBE), review vendor drawings and documents. Supervise the review of design calculations, ensure vendor equipment specifications meet with client equipment specifications and are within budgeted costs.
Reviewing documentation and checking interfaces with infrastructure.
Provide technical expertise and participate in failure investigations to capture the outcome, share with other personnel to eliminate recurring electrical equipment failures.

Establish contract review criteria, identify and resolve discrepancies and divergences from original proposal through the instigation of technical queries to projects/client.

Tertiary Electrical Engineering qualification
Experience in design, implementation, construction, commissioning, or maintenance of HV, LV and Controls equipment and systems
Self-motivated and enthusiastic when working as part of a team or on own initiative
Ability to be responsive and open to changing circumstances
Power systems modelling, protection setting coordination and arc flash analysis.
Registered Professional Engineer (CPEng)
Good communication & interpersonal skills and proficiency in MS office applications
Industrial experience in engineering, maintenance or commissioning within the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical or Chemical industries
Knowledge of Australian & International codes and standards with respect to Electrical systems in hazardous environments and Instrumentation systems.
Ability to conduct & review Electrical & Instrumentation Design Engineering
