  • Draft, review, and negotiate supply contracts to ensure timely and cost-effective outcomes.
  • Promote local sourcing, supply chain resilience, and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) improvements.
  • Monitoring market trends and identifying opportunities for innovation and cost savings.
  • Oversight of goods delivery receipt on site - material control, preservation and warehousing.
  • Ensure procurement practices meet safety, environmental, ethical, and regulatory standards specific to mining and renewables sectors.
  • Leading end-to-end procurement processes in alignment with company policies, procedures, and relevant legislation:
  • Supporting procurement governance and contribute to the development of project specific procurement frameworks and tools.
  • Post-Award: managing contract scope from commencement to close out including expediting, contract administration, inspections, defect management, final acceptance and contract close out.
  • Collaborate with project teams to manage contract performance, commercial compliance, resolve disputes, and mitigate risks.
  • Pre-Award: preparing request for tender (RFT), commercial evaluations, contract negotiation, developing recommendation for award (RFA), contract formation and execution.
  • Champion supplier partnerships with a focus on safety, sustainability, ethical sourcing, and continuous improvement.

We’re pleased to offer an exceptional opportunity for a seasoned Senior Procurement Officer to join our Brisbane office on a maximum-term basis. In this role, you’ll support our client’s rare earth and mineral sands project, working in close partnership with both the client and our internal project teams. You will lead sourcing and procurement activities to support overall project delivery, ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and relevant legislation to achieve effective and efficient procurement outcomes.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement capabilities, with ability to build strong relationships, collaborate and influence at all levels within an organisation.
  • Experience in managing construction contracts and international and domestic procurement supply chain.
  • Professional procurement body membership or certification (e.g., CIPS, CPSM, CPP, MCIPS) highly regarded.
  • Minimum of 10+ years of procurement experience across complex projects in the mining, resources and industrial sectors.
  • Proven ability to manage high value and risk procurement activities with strong commercial acumen.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Supply Chain, Commerce, Business, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Exceptional attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of logistics, material controls and warehousing processes.
  • Willingness to travel (approx. 25%) to project site and vendor facilities.
  • Exposure to local sourcing, supplier diversity and ethical labour programs.
  • Proficient in procurement systems such as Contruent (PRISM), SAP, Oracle, or Ariba is favourable.
  • Strong understanding of heavy industry procurement, supply chains and contract law.
