Under the guidance of a Lead Technician, Fleet Maintenance Supervisor, or Maintenance Manager, a Maintenance Technician A repairs and maintains diesel and non‑diesel equipment and trucks, including chassis components, refuse bodies, air‑brake systems, engines, HVAC, and suspension, drivetrain, and steering systems. The role offers the chance to work on a single fleet of state‑of‑the‑art vehicles, face new challenges daily, receive training on emerging technologies, and enjoy a stable shift schedule with competitive wages and clear career paths.
The technician must maintain advanced knowledge and strong proficiency in a wide range of vehicle systems, enabling complex on‑site and on‑the‑road repairs. Core duties include chassis component repair, refuse body control and hydraulic/electrical systems, air and hydraulic braking, engine maintenance, suspension/drivetrain/steering work, HVAC servicing, and line‑maintenance welding and fabrication. They also diagnose malfunctions using electronic tools, complete required company training, and perform other assigned duties.
Candidates need at least three years of heavy‑duty truck technician experience and the ability to inspect and repair systems such as suspensions, steering, engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical, hydraulics, drivetrain, and diesel emissions with minimal supervision. ASE Heavy‑Truck certifications (T1‑T8), LNG/CNG experience, and a Class B or higher Commercial Driver’s License are desirable but not mandatory. A valid driver’s license is required.
