Description
The Assistant Land Consultant role in the Land Services team focuses on researching and delivering high‑quality land ownership information for clients involved in major highway, rail, energy, and water infrastructure projects that require government approval.
Working closely with engineers, environmental specialists, and planners, you will support the Referencing Manager in liaising with landowners, providing data needed for statutory orders and planning submissions, and ensuring accurate land access and compensation processes.
- Deliver technical land referencing projects and act as a trusted advisor to clients.
- Support bid and tender preparation, contributing to business development and client relationship management.
- Produce regular project reports and manage associated risks.
- Conduct land registry, property authority, and desktop research; analyse questionnaires and manage data in GIS databases.
- Identify and review legal land interests and rights affecting development projects.
- Negotiate land access for environmental and other surveys.
- Participate in internal and external project meetings.
- Assist in securing land rights and negotiating Heads of Terms for large‑scale developments.
- Apply statutory powers such as Vesting Orders, CPOs, TWAOs, Hybrid Bills, and DCOs across multiple sectors.
- Provide timely, budget‑compliant technical support to project teams.
- Work in an environment focused on health, safety, wellbeing, and zero‑harm initiatives.
