The Executive Director, Delivery, VIDA Rail will be responsible for overseeing and mentoring a team of Program Directors delivering various projects across VIDA Rail’s significant program of works. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, major elements of the role involve managing internal and external relationships to achieve project objectives, mentoring and guiding Program Directors in all aspects of project development and delivery, and providing advice to government and senior management on project issues.
- Build strong relationships and competently negotiate with senior representatives from transport agencies and project contractors on major delivery issues, including changes to scheduling and program.
- Lead a team of Program Directors to ensure the overall integration and successful delivery (development, procurement, design, construction, completion and handover) of a portfolio of geographically dispersed VIDA Rail and Rail infrastructure Upgrade projects within scope, time and budget.
- In conjunction with Program Directors, monitor performance against project milestones and key results areas.
- Coordinate the projects interface with other relevant infrastructure projects and public transport operations.

- Ability to effectively manage a broad range of matters affecting project delivery, including those of a legal, land, planning or environmental nature.
- A tertiary qualification in Engineering, Construction or demonstrated experience equivalent
- Demonstrated experience in construction management, procurement strategies, contract management and administration in complex infrastructure projects.
- Astute analytical skills and the ability to convey complex and technical issues to a range of audiences.
- Demonstrated experience and success in senior roles within major construction, engineering or infrastructure projects.
- Experience in leading rail engineering and/or grade separations and construction will be highly valued.
- Demonstrated capacity to lead complex commercial negotiations and achieve solutions, including within a construction environment using multiple forms of contracting.

The role is a 3-year fixed term SES3 position, paying a total remuneration package between $430,741 – $573,328.
