Melbourne Water is seeking an Area Lead - Flood & Stormwater Partnerships to drive innovative partnerships and deliver real impact across our region. If you thrive in stakeholder engagement and want to shape the future of flood and stormwater management, we want to hear from you.

  • Ability to pass a Police check
  • Strong relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Tertiary degree in one of the following: Communications (or related discipline), Engineering or Applied Science, Integrated Water Management, or extensive industry experience in these fields.
  • Knowledge of flood and stormwater management practices (highly desirable).
  • High level communication, relationship management, negotiation and influencing skills
  • Proven experience in delivering complex programs in partnership with diverse stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience in working collaboratively with service delivery partners.
  • Ability to lead change and communicate with a diverse range of stakeholders

Wadawurrung Co-Management
Initiated a partnership with Wadawurrung Traditional Owners Aboriginal Corporation for co-management of land and water since June 2023.
  • Co-developed Stretch Reconciliation Action Plan 2025–2028 with Traditional Owner organisations.
  • Employs a diverse workforce and inclusive culture, welcoming applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, people with disability, mature-age and young job seekers, and people from culturally diverse backgrounds.
