The role’s main purpose is to develop and lead delivery teams within ET&S, providing leadership, technical direction and guidance to project‑management and operations teams. You will take full responsibility for consulting projects in the Built Environment sector—including specialist surveys, refurbishment, upgrades and new‑build works—while managing bidding, technical delivery and margin generation.
You will be accountable for the commercial success of the portfolio, controlling budgets, managing costs, liaising with clients and suppliers to director level, leading bid preparation and providing technical advice across design disciplines. The position also includes people‑management duties, budget input, ensuring compliance with design, procurement and health‑safety regulations, and acting as an ambassador for Amey values.
- Lead and develop ET&S delivery teams, providing technical direction and project guidance.
- Own end‑to‑end consulting projects in the Built Environment, including surveys, refurbishment, upgrades and new builds.
- Manage commercial performance: control budgets, monitor costs, and ensure margin generation.
- Liaise with clients and suppliers up to director level and prepare high‑quality presentations.
- Lead bid strategy and act as Bid Director to win new work.
- Provide technical advice to project managers and design disciplines across the portfolio.
- Assume people‑management responsibilities as needed, including staff development and training.
- Ensure studies, designs, procurement, audits and contract supervision comply with relevant standards and health‑safety regulations.
- Prioritise and coordinate all design activities within the business area.
- Build and maintain strong external networks and relationships for business development.
- Plan, prioritize and sequence work to avoid bottlenecks.
- Analyse complex information and solve problems swiftly.
- Continuously improve processes and resolve breakdowns.
- Build collaborative partnerships and foster teamwork.

Successful candidates will hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Project Management or a Built Environment discipline, be a corporate member of a relevant institution, and possess deep knowledge of the sector together with strong commercial awareness, health‑safety expertise and the ability to manage multiple complex projects.
