- Assists in safeguarding the assets
- Attends budget meetings and other financial meetings on a regular basis.
- Handles special projects as requested by management

- Helps maintain accountability of the financial resources
- Participates in preparation and evaluation of yearly budget process

- Handles personally or supervises general ledger reconciliations
- Supervises the preparation of monthly journal entries
- Trains staff on proper company procedures
- Oversees, monitors and works to improve accounting procedures, internal controls and database management
- Reviews monthly closing processes to prevent errors
- Resolving Conflicts and Negotiating with Others - Handling complaints, settling disputes, and resolving grievances and conflicts, or otherwise negotiating with others.
- Supervises subordinate personnel in treasury, accounts receivable, accounts payable, fixed assets areas of a finance department
- Stays current on changes in regulations and other industry news
- Ensures compliance with all internal controls
- Assists senior management with a variety of tasks as needed

- Tactical and Strategic Analytical Skills - Has excellent critical thinking as well as analytical skills
- Accounting/Finance Knowledge - Displays vast knowledge of math and exceptional accounting skills. Has a working knowledge accepted accounting practices and financial accounting standards, both GAAP and IFRS
- Experience - 5+ years accounting/finance experience. Strong understanding of accounting theory. Experience with manufacturing processes.
- Spends time in a climate controlled office setting looking a computer screens and keyboarding
- Education - Bachelor’s or higher degree in Accounting or Finance or a related field
- Language and Communication Skills - Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- Computer Knowledge - Using computers and computer systems (including hardware and software) to program, write software, set up functions, enter data, or process information. Must have a working knowledge of financial software programs(ORACLE Preferred), Excel, Word software programs
- CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED - CPA a plus, but not required
- Reasoning Ability- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk / listen. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include ability to adjust focus.
