Works with the Plant Manager to manage the steel shop operations in a cost effective and customer focused manner
Works with the Plant Manager to track costs related to steel shop operations
Ensures that all steel items for a specific panel or other precast product are assembled, galvanized, welded or painted as necessary and delivered in a timely manner to the proper production areas and job sites
Documents status of steel orders and informs the Plant Manager
Assumes responsibility for maintaining plant safety in accordance with Enterprise Properties, Inc. Safety Manual and the direction of the Safety Foreman
Meets regularly with the Plant Manager to communicate anticipated production sequences, to discuss potential problems, and to provide opportunity for input on improvement of work processes and work flow
Tracks inventory of all steel plates, angles, inserts, and other items utilized in production of precast products and site connections, and provides this information to the Plant Manager so that materials can be ordered in a timely fashion to avoid scheduling delays or work interruptions
Works with the Traffic Manager on scheduling the delivery of items to job sites or to the galvanizers
Serves as a role model with regard to attendance, timeliness, loyalty, mutual respect and support for organizational teamwork and continuous improvement
Works closely with Quality Control personnel to ensure that all steel items meet specifications
