The Production Manager provides leadership and direction to the manufacturing workforce, focusing on the people, processes, and systems needed for on‑time delivery of quality products. The role is also accountable for managing materials, customer service, and vendor relations to produce products according to the production plan, customer requirements, and product specifications.
A safety‑first culture is promoted and continuously improved in partnership with on‑site safety teams. The manager maintains appropriate staffing levels, onboards field forces and support staff, and evaluates employee performance to identify development opportunities.
Work‑cell MDI boards are managed and daily Gemba walks are performed with organizational leaders, emphasizing safety, quality, delivery, inventory, productivity, and continuous‑improvement initiatives. Labor performed by staff is coordinated and reviewed for accuracy and completeness, while construction drawings and specifications are analyzed to develop efficient manufacturing plans that meet quality standards.
All aspects of product management are overseen, including estimating support, design assistance, material management, resource allocation, capacity planning, change management, schedule attainment, and project reconciliation. Tasks and resources are prioritized to maximize efficiency, and the manager supports strategic planning, tactical plant initiatives, and capital‑expenditure requests.
Progress of assigned projects is tracked, documented, and communicated to customers, coworkers, and management. Products are delivered within budget and according to specifications, while Lean and 5S methodologies are implemented to improve workplace efficiency. Project schedules, BOMs, production reconciliation, and related documentation are owned and maintained using appropriate project‑management and ERP tools.
Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, organizational leadership or a related field (an Associate degree is acceptable with additional experience), five or more years of experience in electrical construction or prefabrication, and at least five years of supervisory or project‑management experience. Candidates must demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, the ability to drive growth and process improvements, and the capability to read, write, and analyze financial and production reports; Lean, Six Sigma, or TPS certification is preferred.
The role operates in a warehouse environment and requires the use of personal protective equipment such as hard‑toe work boots, safety glasses, gloves, and a high‑visibility vest. Employees are frequently required to sit, stand, bend, kneel, reach, stoop, or crouch, and may occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
Compensation ranges from $90,000 to $115,000 annually, with individual pay determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location. In addition to base salary, Hunt Electric offers a comprehensive benefits plan that includes 100 % employer‑paid health, dental, and vision insurance, a flexible hybrid work schedule, generous paid time off, a 401(k) plan with matching contributions, and participation in an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP).
