The Engineer is responsible for the design, development, and establishment of injection molds and fixtures. The role covers the entire process from quotation through to establishment, providing concepts and proofs of injection molds both at supplier sites and in‑house. A solid understanding of injection mold design is essential.
Key duties include conducting manufacturing feasibility studies from 3D models and preparing DFM reports, conceptualizing mold designs, estimating required molding machine capacity and manufacturing processes, and calculating cost and lead time using optimal methods. The engineer leads mold design reviews, performs mold flow analysis, provides feedback to suppliers, and identifies failure modes to implement corrective and preventive actions. They monitor tool development schedules, attend try‑outs to ensure quality of molds, fixtures, and parts, manage PPAP and new‑product documentation, and drive continuous improvement after handover to production.
Candidates should have 1 to 3 years of relevant experience in plastic injection mold development, manufacturing, and processing. Required knowledge includes injection mold design, machining and other mold manufacturing processes, and the ability to work with 3D and 2D design software. Strong problem‑solving, communication, and teamwork skills are essential, along with a proactive attitude, flexibility to travel, and basic computer proficiency. Experience with PVC, CPVC, and UPVC is an added advantage.
