Candidates will also interact with office staff and the management team on a daily basis.
This is a full-time position performing survey field work in an experienced leading role either working independently or working with and mentoring Jr Party Chiefs and Instrument Operators.
Candidates will utilize a variety of survey instruments and other equipment to obtain measurements and perform field surveys. Candidates will also prepare notes and sketches in a clear and legible manner
Candidates will ensure survey field data from each day is downloaded and provide reports and summaries for field work when needed
Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds and resources and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.

Candidates may interact with clients and the public while in the field often acting as the main point of contact in the field and need to represent WSP in a positive and professional manner.
Effective interpersonal and communication skills and should be detail oriented and organized
Ability to work flexible schedules conducive to project-specific needs that may extend beyond the typical work hours or work weeks.
Possess advanced knowledge of most survey equipment, practices, and procedures.
High School diploma or GED required but ideal candidates will have obtained higher education in the field of land surveying or an associated field.
Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and be willing to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
Knowledge of AutoCAD and Lecia Infinity or other drafting / data processing programs a plus.
Possess a willingness to mentor and teach Jr Party Chiefs and Instrument Operators while being willing to continue learning themselves.
Ability to work independently with supervision or as part of a team to complete field tasks related to land surveying.
Experience in most types of survey work including but not limited to traditional boundary and topographic location surveys, utility surveys, right of way surveys, construction stakeout and monitoring, 3D laser scanning, and more.
Minimum of 6 years of experience in the field of land surveying and geospatial services or an associated field.
Must have a valid state driver’s license and must successfully complete and pass WSP's Motor Vehicle and Background screening.
Possess OSHA 10, or other types of safety training certifications
Physical ability to perform the duties of this position may include walking long distances and carrying equipment up to 50 pounds in weight.
Associate or Equivalent experience in closely related discipline is preferred.
