The Community Ambassador serves as a liaison between current residents and management while building relationships with prospective residents and the broader community. This role creates and maintains a vibrant atmosphere, increasing resident satisfaction and retention through programming, one‑on‑one contact, and proactive problem‑solving. Ambassadors also act as role models for student‑residents and represent the company in a professional manner.
Key responsibilities include developing and implementing community enrichment programs and events, supporting marketing and leasing efforts to meet occupancy goals, and covering rotating office and on‑call shifts such as tours, lockouts, and emergency response. Ambassadors provide residents with information on services, conflict resolution, and crisis management, and assist with move‑in and move‑out processes. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.
Candidates must have or be able to obtain a state leasing license, be proficient in Microsoft Office and social media, and possess strong verbal and written communication skills. A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 and enrollment in at least 12 undergraduate (or 6 graduate) credit hours are required. Confidentiality, organization, and the ability to reside in an assigned staff apartment prior to fall semester are also essential.
The position operates primarily in a professional office environment but may require occasional outdoor work and the ability to lift up to 30 pounds. Employees must maintain visual acuity for computer work and data analysis and may need to travel locally or overnight for business purposes.
The Community Ambassador position is located at Hale Mahana Apartments in Honolulu, HI. It is a part‑time role (20‑29 hours per week) with a salary of $16.00 hourly. The schedule follows a day shift, including weekends, and reports to the General Manager. No direct reports are required.
