What you would be doing

- Excavate, prepare, and construct pad foundations to precise tolerances.
- Report defects, maintenance needs, or safety concerns promptly to the site management team.
- Place and level blinding, reinforcement, and concrete as required.
- Operate pipe lasers with precision to ensure correct line and level.
- Effectively manage groundwater, including setting up and operating suitable pumps.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, levels, and specifications accurately.
- Lay concrete, clay, and plastic drainage pipes of varying sizes, ensuring correct bedding, surround, and testing procedures.
- Set up and safely use trench boxes, drag boxes, and manhole boxes.
- Work safely around live services, applying service avoidance techniques at all times.
- Construct, bench, and finish manholes in accordance with design requirements.
- Carry out daily pre-start checks and basic maintenance on tools, plant, and equipment.
- Work closely with engineers and site management to achieve programme targets and quality expectations.
- Follow correct trench preparation and backfilling procedures to maintain stability and safety.
- Ensure all drainage installations meet quality and compliance standards.

- Kerbing, edging, slab laying, and block paving.
- Additional CPCS/NPORS * tickets (Telehandler, Dumper, Roller) are advantageous.
- Able to work effectively within a team and collaborate with other trades.
- Must hold a valid Right to Work in the UK .
- Knowledge of materials and construction methods for underground drainage, road formation, and hard/soft landscaping.
- 510+ years experience in skilled groundworks, with a strong emphasis on deep drainage and pad foundations .
- Training and upskilling to meet site-specific requirements.
- Experienced working gangs or established teams are highly sought after.
- Reliable, punctual, and safety-conscious.
