The Accounting Analyst role applies generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) to analyze financial information, reconcile statements, and prepare journal entries. The analyst also assists in budget development and generates standard accounting and financial reports for management.
Key duties include compiling and analyzing data for entry into financial statements, reviewing budgets, revenue, expenses, payroll entries and invoices, and resolving discrepancies. The position performs bank reconciliations, wire transfers, mortgage payments and distributions, and maintains accounting control procedures by monitoring revenue and expenditure trends. It also supports property acquisition, disposition and closing financial analyses, and coordinates with internal and external auditors.
Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or a related field and have at least three years of relevant accounting experience applying GAAP. Required skills include strong analytical ability, proficiency with financial and property‑management systems such as Yardi or OneSite, and advanced Microsoft Office competencies. Applicants should be proactive, self‑directed, and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
The role can be performed in an office or remote environment, with occasional travel for meetings or training. No special physical demands are required, although long periods of sitting may occur. Compensation includes a base salary with eligibility for quarterly or annual bonus programs, depending on the job classification.
