The Custodian (Part‑Time) reports to the Custodial Manager or Supervisor and performs a variety of cleaning duties for C&W Services. Work is carried out according to the company’s established standards, instructions, and procedures.
Daily responsibilities include sweeping, mopping, and washing floors and other interior surfaces, operating light and heavy commercial floor buffers and shampoo machines, vacuuming rugs in offices and public areas, and spot‑cleaning rugs as directed. The role also involves dusting furniture, exhibit cases, pictures, chairs, door trim, light fixtures, and other horizontal surfaces, as well as high‑dusting on a periodic basis. Windowsills, interior glass, door glass, and specified windows are cleaned regularly, and interior walls are spot‑cleaned as needed.
Bathroom cleaning and restocking is performed each day, including damp‑wiping glass surfaces, emptying waste baskets, servicing soap and toilet‑paper dispensers, dusting sills, cleaning tile walls, shelves, stall partitions, and sweeping, mopping, or scrubbing floors. The custodian monitors for defects such as clogged urinals or non‑functional lights and reports them to supervisors. Building trash is collected daily, liners are replaced according to specifications, and snow is swept or shoveled from steps and walkways as directed.
Periodic tasks include high‑dusting, polishing leather and wood surfaces, wall washing, and any additional duties assigned by management.
The position requires no prior cleaning experience; candidates must be able to take direction, work with minimal supervision, and cooperate as part of a team. Ability to use cleaning tools and equipment, including backpack‑style portable vacuums, strong attention to detail, organization, high energy, and endurance are essential.
