- Interact constructively with Field Operations, Maintenance Planning & Scheduling, System Operations, and other departments within AltaLink
- Troubleshoot, inspect, and maintain Protection & Control and Telecommunication devices associated with AltaLink's transmission system
- Develop Field Level Hazard Assessments/ Safe Work Plans, perform P&C Telecommunications work safely and ensure a high level of reliability to our customers

- Effective communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills to interface with team members and customers.

- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills with the ability to work within strict deadlines.
- Capable of passing the physical fitness and medical requirements
- Be competent and comfortable working with computers and spreadsheets
- Have a valid Class 5 driver's license with a satisfactory driving record. Drivers abstract to be provided upon interview
- Full-time student enrolled in a related and recognized two year Electrical, Wireless, Telecom, or Electronics Engineering Technology program
- Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to build rapport
- Able to work alone with a minimum of supervision and respond to after hours trouble calls
- Proven track record of good attendance and punctuality.
- Trouble response for Protection & Control and Telecommunication equipment in the area.
- Ability to work independently and part of a team
- Demonstrate a willingness to work safely and show concern for environmental, health and safety issues in the workplace
- Must have the ability to work in adverse weather conditions
- Knowledge and adherence to safety practices, procedures, and standards required
