  • Interact constructively with Field Operations, Maintenance Planning & Scheduling, System Operations, and other departments within AltaLink
  • Troubleshoot, inspect, and maintain Protection & Control and Telecommunication devices associated with AltaLink's transmission system
  • Develop Field Level Hazard Assessments/ Safe Work Plans, perform P&C Telecommunications work safely and ensure a high level of reliability to our customers

  • Effective communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills to interface with team members and customers.

  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills with the ability to work within strict deadlines.
  • Capable of passing the physical fitness and medical requirements
  • Be competent and comfortable working with computers and spreadsheets
  • Have a valid Class 5 driver's license with a satisfactory driving record. Drivers abstract to be provided upon interview
  • Full-time student enrolled in a related and recognized two year Electrical, Wireless, Telecom, or Electronics Engineering Technology program
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to build rapport
  • Able to work alone with a minimum of supervision and respond to after hours trouble calls
  • Proven track record of good attendance and punctuality.
  • Trouble response for Protection & Control and Telecommunication equipment in the area.
  • Ability to work independently and part of a team
  • Demonstrate a willingness to work safely and show concern for environmental, health and safety issues in the workplace
  • Must have the ability to work in adverse weather conditions
  • Knowledge and adherence to safety practices, procedures, and standards required
