Expedite, review and approve shop drawings, submittals and safety requirements for assigned tasks. Utilize the Project Management System for shop drawing administration. Supply required submittal information such as field dimensions. Distribute approved submittals to pertinent subcontractors.
Ensure that all materials and equipment are released for fabrication in adequate lead time to accommodate the required jobsite delivery date.
Lead company-level technical training to the Project Engineer work group.
Maintain and issue status logs for all field questions, RFI’s, changes, work orders, and T & M work.
Document all as-built changes, maintain project record drawings and specifications.
As requested, support the Project Manager with PM duties (possibly including meeting minutes, buyout, billings, cost control and change proposal pricing, etc.).
Prepare and distribute minutes to meetings as directed by the Project Manager.
As a senior leader in the overall Lewis Team, you will work in a collaborative approach with team members to ensure good relations with all parties related to the project.
Distribute all information required for construction to appropriate parties including construction drawings, specifications and work packages.
Set up project close-out procedures and manage the close-out process. Expedite submittal and review of subcontractor close-out requirements.
Supervise the Project Engineer work group on site, assuring quality control and timely delivery of all materials.
Lead technical on-the-job training for the project engineering staff. This includes navigating the contract documents, submittal reviews, writing effective RFI’s and/or CDR’s and quality control.
Serve as the technical expert on the project team sharing wisdom and experience with less experienced project engineers.
Receive and distribute information on clarifications and changes in the work for areas of responsibility. Obtain and check subcontractor’s pricing and assist in assembling change quotations as directed by Project Manager.
Participate in broader company initiatives, training, committees and industry associations to improve our processes and outcomes.
Understand and implement all terms and conditions of all subcontracts and the owner contract.
Be a leader in open communication with team members. Promote good relations with all parties related to the project.
Initiate the computerized Project Management System. Prepare a schedule of submittal deadlines and required approval dates. Expedite, review and approve all shop drawings and submittals.
Work with the Project Manager and Superintendent in directing Project Engineers. Perform regular (weekly) work review sessions with each support engineer.
Assist Project Manager in preparing scope of work instructions, technical requirements and bid packages for subcontractor and vendor items. Draft subcontracts and supply agreements as instructed by the Project Manager. Make recommendations for awards.

Working knowledge of all building systems (civil, structure, enclosure, interiors and MEP) to ensure building systems are properly coordinated.

Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, or related field or equivalent years of experience required.
Be familiar with the company policies on personnel, quality management, safety, EEO, labor, bonds and insurance as required.
Minimum of 7 years or more of general contracting experience, preferably with proven performance on large commercial
Working knowledge of the project schedule and computerized scheduling systems.
Technology proficiency in programs such as Bluebeam, will be essential to success in the role.
Exhibit superior writing skills. Review and respond to all correspondence to and from subcontractors and vendors for assigned tasks.
