Under direct supervision of a Lead Technician, Fleet Maintenance Supervisor, or Maintenance Manager, a Maintenance Technician A repairs and maintains diesel and non‑diesel equipment and trucks, including chassis components, refuse bodies, air brake systems, engines, HVAC, suspension, drivetrain and steering systems. The technician must maintain advanced knowledge and strong skill proficiency in vehicle systems to perform complex on‑site and road repairs. Core duties include chassis, refuse‑body (control, hydraulic, electrical), air and hydraulic braking, engine, suspension, drivetrain, steering, HVAC, and line‑maintenance welding and fabrication. They diagnose malfunctions using electronic tools, complete required company training programs, and perform any other job‑related tasks as assigned.
Candidates need at least three years of heavy‑duty truck experience and the ability to inspect and repair systems such as suspensions, steering, engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical, hydraulics, drivetrain, and diesel emissions with minimal supervision. ASE Heavy‑Truck certifications (T1‑T8), LNG/CNG experience, and a Class B or higher commercial driver’s license are preferred but not required.
A valid driver’s license is mandatory.
