The Construction Foreman serves as the onsite manager for up to ten HVAC Installation Technicians. Responsibilities include ensuring safety, monitoring daily and weekly progress, conducting JHAs and spot inspections, and providing guidance, mentorship, and clear communication.
The foreman works closely with clients to deliver commercial retail projects on schedule and within budget, often handling multiple concurrent jobs. They coordinate crew activities, maintain project documentation, and address any issues that arise on the job site.

Candidates must possess at least five years of verified HVAC trade experience and demonstrate strong proficiency in reading mechanical drawings, specifications, and code requirements such as the IECC. Required certifications include Universal EPA, TDLR registration, OSHA 10, First Aid, and CPR, and they must be able to perform hands‑on installation and fabrication tasks across a wide range of equipment.
The role requires regular standing, walking, and the ability to lift or move up to 75 pounds in environments with high noise levels. Foremen may need to visit customer sites or accompany field technicians as part of their duties.
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings with high skill.
- Demonstrate extensive knowledge of drawings, specifications, installation methods, IECC, code enforcement, and safety.
- Possess a minimum of five years of verifiable HVAC trade experience.
- Hold mandatory certifications: Universal EPA, TDLR registration, OSHA 10, First Aid, and CPR.
- Know major HVAC components and installation methods, including RTUs, VAVs, fan‑powered boxes, fan coils, split systems, hydronic systems, chillers, boilers, piping, valves, ducting, grilles, registers, diffusers, louvers, dampers, fans, fire dampers, hoods, roof curbs, equipment supports, condensate systems, controls (BAS/BMS/BACnet), startups, balancing, VRF systems, heaters, air handlers, HVLS fans, exhaust systems, line sets, insulation, jacketing, gauges, filters, transitions, snap‑lock, and flex fittings.
