

WSP provides engineering, design, and consulting services across diverse sectors worldwide.
The engineer will provide subject‑matter technical support and leadership for multi‑site due diligence, investigation, remediation, impact assessment, permitting, design, development and construction of utility, industrial and commercial scale projects. Responsibilities include research, concept development, planning and construction of transmission and distribution substations, power regulation, renewable energy, and protection and control systems across diverse sectors while ensuring quality, safety and industry standards.
Key programs to be modernized include FLISR, Volt‑Var Optimization, Distribution Resiliency, ADMS, Electrification of Transportation, DER solutions and advanced planning techniques. The role involves leading critical engineering tasks, exercising technical authority on strategic assignments, tracking schedules and budgets, participating in industry standards groups, presenting at conferences, occasional travel, and supporting related disciplines such as protection and planning.
Required qualifications are a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent), 10+ years of post‑graduation experience delivering design for power generation, transmission and distribution projects, and a professional engineering license (multi‑state preferred). The candidate must possess deep knowledge of electrical infrastructure planning, design and construction management, relevant codes and regulations, and be proficient in power system analysis software such as CYME, Milsoft, Synergi or PSCAD. Strong communication, self‑leadership, QA/QC adherence, and safety awareness are essential.
Preferred qualifications include an MSEE or PhD, advanced modeling expertise, ADMS configuration experience, and knowledge of overhead and underground distribution line design. WSP offers comprehensive benefits covering health, retirement, paid leave and more, with a salary range of $129,600 – $220,300 for Colorado, subject to experience and qualifications.
