Hold measuring devices during construction layout activities.
Move and adjust position of survey equipment.
Establish points by installing physical markers.
Inventory supplies and give supply orders to Survey Party Chief for re-stocking.
Prepare surveying equipment for use.
Remove obstructions during construction layout activities.
Assist with construction surveying activities under direction of Survey Party Chief.
Maintain and clean surveying equipment including tracking of calibrations.
Measure distance between points using measuring tape or electronic equipment.
Participate in daily Pre-Task Plans, follow safety expectations for operation of equipment and tools, select appropriate equipment for performing work, adhere to safety protocols to perform work, and wear appropriate PPE (Personal Protection Equipment).
Maintain positive working relationships with customers, contractors, suppliers and other employees.
Identify, communicate, and escalate problems and issues to supervisor for immediate resolution.
Ensure security of equipment and work area while conducting operations.

Ability to measure , read, and convey lengths with ruler or tape with high degree of accuracy
Fully understand work instructions, project signage, and safety instructions from tool and equipment manufacturers and prepare and inspect tools prior use to ensure safe and working condition.
Ability to take direction, work independently with minimal supervision, and in team environment
Possess basic knowledge and use of surveying equipment (e.g., builder’s level, lasers, laser levels, total stations, and robotic total stations) to complete work assignments
Ability to travel using various modes (e.g., automobile, train, air) and accommodate night and weekend work
Able to think critically and use g ood judgment to solve proble ms
Clear and professional verbal and written communication skills and engage with all levels of teams, clients, business partners, and management
Minimum of 6 months of construction surveying and building layout experience required or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
Knowledge of and able to apply arithmetic , basic geometry , and trigonometry to work tasks
Familiar with CAD (Computer Aided Design) preferred
Ability to apply active listening skills, ask clarifying questions, and complete assignments as directed
