Technical Project Manager

Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Technical Project Manager (TPM) located in our Manchester offices. The TPM is responsible for delivery of the entire technical solution of the High Voltage ‘Transmission System’ from concept & design phase, through to installation, testing & commissioning, satisfactory system test and handover to client, and provision of all technical documentation necessary to safely operate and maintain the assets and closeout the project. The responsible TPM is required to deliver the transmission system to all Cost, Time, Quality, Safety and Performance requirements. Additionally, responsible for supporting the wider project team in the delivery and achievement of the overall project objectives.

Requirements

• Detailed knowledge of CDM Regulations / Current H&S legislation & Design Risk Management processes including Safety by Design.
• Fully conversant with the latest Transmission and Distribution systems, standards & technologies.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Experience of purchasing procedures and strong negotiating skills.
• Awareness of Commercial and Contractual issues.
• Proven expertise in High Voltage Technology Projects, including planning, execution, and monitoring of transmission projects (e.g. Grid Access connections or HVDC Interconnectors).
• Minimum 7 years’ experience within the Transmission and Distribution industry, preferably in primary plant engineering or commissioning; at least three years of which includes management of projects with full responsibility for the engineering transmission system.
