  • Collaborate with HR and other departments on people management and operational matters.
  • Promote a culture of development through coaching, training, and regular performance reviews.
  • Maintain compliance with all relevant quality systems, food safety, and regulatory requirements.
  • Optimise laboratory scheduling and resourcing to maximise efficiency and continuity.
  • Liaise closely with Quality and Operations teams to support production and quality objectives.
  • Plan and coordinate daily analytical workloads, ensuring timely delivery of accurate results in line with business needs.
  • Ensure data integrity and accuracy within LIMS and other digital systems.
  • Oversee proficiency testing, method validation, and laboratory infrastructure projects.
  • Lead and manage a team of Laboratory Technicians across microbiology and chemistry functions.
  • Monitor performance against KPIs and implement continuous improvement initiatives.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional to lead both the Microbiology and Chemistry Laboratories, driving operational performance and ensuring the highest standards of quality and compliance.

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational abilities.
  • Strong understanding of quality and food safety legislation and best practices.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with SAP and LIMS is highly desirable.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a laboratory management or supervisory role within the food, healthcare, or pharmaceutical manufacturing industry.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Demonstrated success in achieving operational KPIs and performance targets.
  • Third-level qualification in Food Science, Microbiology, Biotechnology, or a related discipline.
