Reporting to the Senior Health, Safety, Environment and Sustainability Manager, the HSES Specialist is responsible for day‑to‑day implementation of EDF’s HSES programs. The role provides sound advice to management, subcontractors, suppliers, and employees to ensure a healthy, safe, and legally compliant working environment while championing the company’s values.
Candidates should hold a graduate diploma in health and safety or possess equivalent experience, along with at least five years of hands‑on HSES practice. Experience in wind‑power plant operations and a solid understanding of Ontario and Alberta health‑safety legislation are valued. Strong communication, report‑writing, and presentation skills, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office, are required.
Physical demands include the ability to work at heights while installing or servicing wind turbines, pass a medical fitness‑for‑duty assessment, and operate safely in extreme weather conditions such as cold, rain, and high winds.

The annual salary range for this role is $75,700 – $126,200, with compensation decisions based on factors such as relevant work and leadership experience, education, demonstrated performance, internal equity, and, where applicable, geographic location.
Work is primarily performed on site in Ontario and Alberta (approximately 80 % of the time), with the remaining 20 % spent in an office setting where documentation and reporting are completed. The position offers flexibility to work from home for office‑based tasks as needed.
