This senior role delivers high‑level technical direction for the planning, design, permitting, and construction of complex transit and rail systems, ensuring projects meet rigorous safety, functionality, and quality standards.

The position involves guiding multidisciplinary teams, coordinating with clients, authorities, and sub‑consultants, managing project budgets and schedules, and integrating innovative technologies to create future‑ready mobility infrastructure.

• Provide technical guidance for due diligence, investigation, remediation, permitting, improvement, and construction of transit and rail infrastructure.
• Collect and analyze data from surveys, GIS, blueprints, subsurface utilities, hydrologic and geotechnical sources.
• Apply high‑level transit and rail engineering methods across concept development to operation phases.
• Perform site research, inspections, and ensure compliance with applicable rules, standards, and permits.
• Develop construction plans, specifications, cost estimates, safety and phasing plans, and update infrastructure layouts.
• Integrate advanced technologies, modeling techniques, and design requirements for safe, future‑ready mobility solutions.
• Lead cross‑functional teams, coordinate with owners, transit authorities, sub‑consultants, and clients on multiple concurrent projects.
• Oversee project budgets, tracking, task completion, permits, compliance documentation, and technical analysis memos.
• Review and approve infrastructure design plans, ensuring data integrity and code compliance.
• Prepare data visualizations, technical reports, and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations.
• Analyze field investigation data, develop risk mitigation action plans, and implement Health and Safety Plans.
• Interact professionally with regulatory agencies, subcontractors, and clients.
• Support business development, proposal efforts, and stay current with industry practices.

Requirements

Candidates must have an engineering degree, substantial experience in transit and rail engineering, strong leadership and communication abilities, and proficiency with industry‑standard software and regulatory frameworks.

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
• 7–10 years of post‑degree experience in transit and rail engineering, including civil works, stations, bridges, and elevated structures.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
• Proficiency with transit and rail engineering principles, design/build processes, and regulatory standards (FRA, FTA, CPUC, AREMA).
• Experience in infrastructure planning, design, construction management, and rehabilitation projects.
• Strong knowledge of track, station, layover facilities, and general civil engineering.
• Ability to perform technical calculations, inspections, and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for diverse audiences.
• Demonstrated self‑leadership, detail‑orientation, multitasking, and ability to work independently.
• Advanced proficiency with technical writing and design software (MicroStation, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, OpenRail) and productivity tools.
• Strong critical‑thinking and problem‑solving abilities to analyze data and develop economical solutions.
• Proven ability to direct subcontractors, uphold safety standards, and adhere to company policies.
• Availability for flexible schedules and occasional travel as project demands.
