Maintaining up-to-date technical skills related to the design of electrical substations and protection and control schematics for the electric utility power grid through on-the-job work and formal training.
Self-manage assigned projects and job cost accountability to perform work within budgeted cost estimates.
Develop relay protective setpoints and settings files.
Interpret new construction drawing packages.
Develop study reports and communicate results and recommendations to customers.
Perform Short circuit, coordination, and arc flash studies for commercial, industrial, education, healthcare, and generation facilities using SKM, ETAP, and/or Easypower software.
Successfully execute small to medium-sized projects with limited oversight.
Develop and/or update equipment control schematics, one-lines, three-lines, and wiring diagrams.
Effectively communicate with other departments and customers to ensure activities are properly coordinated.
Meeting all project deadlines and supporting the processes and procedures to meet deadlines.
Working on project teams supporting all quality and project management goals.

Ability to travel 50-60% of the time.
Strong computer skills.
BS Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited school (Mechanical Engineering degrees accepted for some roles) with a focus on power systems.
Educational experience directly related to working with [medium to high voltage] electricity (preferred).
Applies knowledge of low and medium-voltage switchgear, motor control centers, circuit breakers, panel boards, and disconnects to determine cost-effective mitigation solutions from the results and recommendations of power system studies.
Knowledge of test equipment and tool/wiring usage.
Strong communication skills and the ability to effectively discuss technical recommendations with customers.
Must have the ability to work independently, and accurately, and have high attention to detail.
