The Role
Overview
Design, deliver, and support OT solutions for Thames Water's operational assets.

Tasks
You will work collaboratively with internal teams, external partners, and suppliers to ensure that all solutions align with Thames Water’s technical roadmap, standards, and long-term strategic goals. Your role will help drive continuous improvement, innovation, and future readiness within our operational technology landscape. -Build strong working relationships with vendors, regulators, and delivery partners. -Support the adoption of emerging OT technologies and methodologies. -Support periodic inspections and audits to verify quality, compliance, and safety standards. -Support the design and deployment of OT solutions across Thames Water’s operational assets. -Develop detailed technical documentation, including specifications, drawings, and reports, to support solution deployment and ongoing operation. -Ensure solutions meet security, performance, and regulatory requirements. -Ensure OT systems align with approved architectures, frameworks, and internal technical standards. -Provide technical support during build, commissioning, and handover phases to ensure smooth transition to operational teams. -Contribute to the testing and validation of OT systems to ensure design integrity and business alignment. -Contribute to supplier selection, technical assessments, and commercial evaluations of proposed solutions. -Contribute to AMP9 planning and the OT PR29 submission. -Maintain technical knowledge of OT tools, systems, and best practices, applying new insights to improve delivery outcomes. -Translate complex technical information into clear, actionable guidance for stakeholders. -Ensure all OT activities align with Thames Water’s strategic, technical, and regulatory frameworks. -Support AMP8 delivery by ensuring the timely design, approval, and deployment of OT solutions. -Identify and support initiatives that enhance the performance, resilience, and scalability of OT systems. -Ensure all work supports Thames Water’s safety, sustainability, and compliance objectives. -Collaborate with engineering, operations, cybersecurity, IT, and asset management teams to deliver integrated OT solutions.

What You Bring
Working at Thames Water -Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills. -Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to deliver under pressure. -Strong technical report writing, documentation, and communication skills. -Experience working with industry or international standards and contributing to documentation. -Experience in OT solutions or technical governance within utilities or industrial environments. -Ability to simplify and communicate complex technical solutions effectively. -Proven experience in deploying OT systems, including SCADA, telemetry, and control systems. -In-depth understanding of OT systems and architecture, including SCADA, PLC, HMI, and industrial networking. -Project management and delivery experience, including planning and performance tracking. -Membership of a professional engineering institution. -Experience working with third-party delivery partners and managing competing priorities. -Strong understanding of OT cybersecurity, risk management, and regulatory compliance. -Change management experience within OT programmes. -Ability to make balanced decisions considering technical risk and business priorities. -Experience developing technical standards, specifications, or frameworks. -Strong stakeholder engagement and cross-functional collaboration skills. -Commercial and contract management experience. -Higher education qualification or equivalent experience in an engineering discipline. -Health, Safety, and Environmental Management qualification (e.g., NEBOSH) -Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making ability in complex, reactive environments.
