Assistant Project Manager

Description

The Assistant Project Manager supports the planning, coordination, and direction of project management activities from project identification through construction closeout, ensuring alignment with owner needs, specifications, cost, and schedule. This role may supervise office or field staff and collaborates with architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to keep projects on track.

• Assist the Project Manager in developing project‑specific procedures, documentation, and A/E systems.
• Ensure contracts, drawings, estimates, and specifications comply with construction requirements.
• Obtain, maintain, and manage data, communications, and approvals among owners, architects, engineers, and other entities.
• Support management of project controls, cost, performance, logistics, and closeout activities.
• Document, administer, and track information and statuses for project meetings.
• Coordinate and monitor activities of construction staff, contractors, engineers, and architects as needed.
• Provide medical, dental, vision, and HSA with employer contributions.
• Provide Teladoc and pet insurance.
• Maintain an employee referral program.

Requirements

• Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or equivalent (or extensive relevant experience).
• Possess at least 3 years of Assistant Project Manager experience in the Education sector.
• Demonstrate knowledge of project development, design‑phase management, estimating, cost controls, scheduling, and documentation.
• Be proficient with Microsoft Office, Prolog, and Primavera.
• Experience with document control systems and new construction/modernization is preferred.
• Construction Manager in Training (CMIT) or Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT) certification is preferred.

Benefits

Compensation for this position ranges from $105,000 to $125,000 and is determined by factors including education, qualifications, experience, and geographic location.
